In 2010, Yee-Haw Industries was approached to work on a logo for a new 'legal moonshine' company that wanted a classic and distinguished logo that carried with it a rough-hewn, southern feel. As lead designer, I set and proofed rare antique wood type from the collection, and then manipulated it digitally to arrive at the final type treatment. Since its humble inception in East Tennessee 10 years ago, the brand is now nationally recognized as one of the pioneers of the ‘legal moonshine’ business, distributed in all 50 states and 35 countries globally. Ole Smoky is also the home to the most visited distillery in the world, welcoming over 4 million visitors in 2018.
