Brushy Mountain Double Barrel Whiskey
Branding & Packaging

Double Barrel Whiskey is blended and bottled at Brushy Mountain Distillery, located on a former federal prison site in East Tennessee.
The label design uses workhorse typefaces from the early 1900s and refrences the straightforward look and feel of prison signage systems. Gold accents highlight the distillery’s logo, a symbol that combines the bottle shape with the sallyport, an arched entrance in the permiter walls. A thick rectangular bottle shape was chosen to symbolize the weight and monolithic structure of the complex. The long neck with bright red and gold band is a subtle reference to a shotgun shell.
